It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Doug on December 24th, 2024 at the age of 67.
Doug was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, whose life was defined by his love for his family, his passion for music, and his joy in sharing the outdoors with those he loved. Known for his love of laughter, his generous spirit and dedication to helping others, Doug brought warmth and kindness to everyone he met. His extensive circle of friends formed from childhood to his retirement are a testament to the great man he was.
He is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 38 years, Gayelyn, his two daughters Amelia Brennan (Kyle) and Kayly Richardson (Reed) and his beautiful granddaughters Isla, Maeve and Molly. Also survived by brother in laws Guye (Catherine), Gene (Tammy) and several nieces and nephews.
Pre-deceased by his parents Jack and Maureen Henderson and his in laws Jack and Bev Vondette. As well as his brothers, Dave and Paul.
Doug will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
Doug's Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025 from 1-4pm at The Social Pub, 295 George St N, Peterborough, ON.
