It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Ruth Stedall, our cherished mother, on Monday, July 7th, 2025 at the age of 83.
Ruth is predeceased by her beloved husband, Charles Henry Stedall. Ruth will be deeply missed by her daughters, Shelley Stedall (James Wever) and Julie Howe (Eric), and her beloved grandson, Nicholas (Nick) Christopher Stedall Eliopoulos. She was the daughter of the late Ellen (Baker) and Fredrick Spry and came from a large family, especially loved by her siblings, Isobel Cole (Bill) of Marmora, Philip Spry (Linda) of Belleville and sister-in-law, Frances Meekings. Predeceased by brothers Gord (Gail) of Stirling and Robert. "Aunt Ruthie" was adored by many nieces and nephews and will be fondly remembered by her special friend, George.
Ruth passed away after a lengthy vigilant battle with cancer. She was born on December 12th,1941 in Marmora ON. Ruth was a Registered Nurse for almost 40 years and was extremely devoted to her career, showing care and compassion to her patients, family and friends. She had passions for travel, gardening, sewing, knitting and baking. In her retirement she was a volunteer on the board of directors with the Parkinson’s Society, and many related nursing organizations including President of the St. Joseph’s Nurses Alumni. She was a very active member of her church and was incredibly positive in every aspect of her life and lived life to its fullest.
We want to express our thanks to all the staff from D2 Palliative Care PRHC for making her comfortable in her final days. We also want to thank the devoted friends and family that made so many visits to Ruth and showed so much support to the family.
