Ed passed away peacefully on Saturday May 13, 2023 at Peterborough Regional Health Centre at the age of 86, with family members by his side.  Beloved husband of Shirley (nee Fell) for 63 years. Loving father to Roger, Rob (Leanne), and David (predeceased in 2022). Proud grandpa to his 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Survived by his siblings Theresa, June, his twin brother Fred(Helen), and Roy(Linda). He is predeceased by his parents Theresa and Frederick (King) and siblings Sam, Harold, and Ruth. Ed worked at Brinton Carpet in the 1950’s and 60’s where he met Shirley, the love of his life. He transitioned to self-employment in 1969 when he started his flooring installation business (Anderson Carpets). He loved to work, which is why he didn’t retire until the age of 80 years. He said it kept him young, which may help explain why his physicality and wit made him appear much younger than his actual years.  He took great pride and excelled in his craft as flooring installer. He contracted almost exclusively to Peterborough Carpet Land (now Whelan’s Flooring Centre).  Most importantly, he was a devoted family man and friend, who will be fondly remembered by all as a most kind and generous person.  We also want to thank all the doctors, nurses, and rehab staff in the ICU for their wonderful care for dad and support to the family.  Friends will be received at the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE, 2510 Bensfort Rd., Peterborough on Friday, May 19, 2023 from 9:30-10:30 AM.  Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 AM.  Interment Highland Park Cemetery.  Reception in the Highland Park reception Centre.  In memory of Ed, donations to the PRHC Foundation.  Online condolences may be made at www.highlandparkfuneralcentre.com
