It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our mother, Eileen Junkin, the strong and beautiful matriarch of our family. She passed to her eternal home on July 5, 2025 at Hospice Peterborough after a courageous battle with several health issues over the past year. She was in her 100th year, born in apple country on Georgian Bay.
Survived by sons Arthur and Bill Charters of Peterborough and daughter Lynne-Anne (Jim) Wolf of North Carolina. Predeceased by husband Art Junkin (2000) and Harold Charters (1984). Also survived by grandchildren Christy (Jason), Mandy, Jeffrey (Ashley), Catherine (Steve), Melissa (Mike) and Lana (Karl) as well as great grandchildren Caitlyn, Beau, Kinsley, Jaidan, Finn, River, Jonathan, Ian, Adam, Reese and Brooklynn.
Eileen was a life member and a past president of Branch 452, Ladies Auxiliary, Royal Canadian Legion. She was an active member and volunteer at Activity Haven in Peterborough.
At her request, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will take place at a later date and interment will follow in Thornbury, Ontario.
