Eleanor Lillian (Forbes) Bedford

Passed peacefully, at Fairhaven Home, Peterborough, Ontario on Saturday, September 19, 2026, in her 88th year.

Eleanor was the beloved wife of the late John (Jack) Bedford.  Together they shared 44 years of marriage and created a life filled with family, friends and cherished memories.

A loving and devoted mom to Linda Farnham (Mark), Cathy Bedford (Chris McIndoo), and Heather Pogue (Dave).

Proud Nanny to Shawn, Adam, Mitchell, Damon (Erin), Stephanie (Zach), Brett, Kristie (Dan), Bryan (Carly).  As well as a proud Great-Nanny to Silas, Saxton, Aiden, Landen, Logan, Mabel and Duncan.

Eleanor was predeceased by her siblings George (Ilene), Roy (Ginny), Marjorie (Hugh). Sister-in-law to Claire, the late Gary, and the late Joyce (Normand).

Special Auntie Ellie to Karen, Dale, the late David, Lorraine, the late Barbara, Sue, Ross, Donna, Andrew, Ginger, Debbie, Craig, Todd, Bryan, Stephanie and many great nieces and nephews.

Bestie to the late Detra.

Eleanor gave her family unconditional love.  Their time together was treasured and she delighted in watching her family grow over the years.

She will be remembered for the love, warmth and kindness she so freely gave to those around her, and for a lifetime of memories for us to carry in our hearts.

In keeping with Eleanor’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will be held at a later date, where she will be laid to rest with her beloved Jack.

In memory of Eleanor, and in lieu of flowers, donations to CMHA-HKPR – Team 55 would be gratefully appreciated by her family.
