FROST, Eleanor Emma
A beloved mother, nana, sister and friend passed away peacefully, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s, surrounded by the love of her children at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on January 21, 2025, in her 84th year. Devoted wife of the late Graham (Hap) Frost. Loving and dedicated mother of Danny Frost, Dennis Frost, Dean Frost (Min), Derek Frost, Dana Geen (Paul) and Darla Ferlias (Patrick). Dear Nana of Makensie Frost, Maren Geen, Quinn and Colton Ferlias. Eldest daughter of the late Cecil and Irene Conley and daughter-in-law of the late Ann Delaney. Missed by her sister Nancy Robertson (Lockman) and her nieces, nephews, and friends. Predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law Carol and George Elliott.
When Eleanor found herself widowed at the age of 38, and mother to six children between the ages of three and sixteen, she more than rose to the challenge. She single-handedly raised her children in a home filled with love and laughter. Eleanor’s pride and joy was her children, and she strove to make sure they all benefited from her unconditional love and support. Being called Nana was a dream come true for Eleanor, and she enjoyed countless happy hours spoiling her grandchildren with her love and attention.
When her children were grown, Eleanor continued in her service of caring for others by becoming a highly regarded and faithful employee of Nightingale Nursing. As a PSW, for over 20 years, Eleanor took pride in caring for those who were most vulnerable and provided them with compassionate and respectful support. Her willingness to work long hours, without complaint, continued to set a positive example for her children. Through her kind and faithful service to others, Eleanor was a positive role model for everyone she met.
A private family service will be held on Sunday January 26, 2025, followed by internment at Highland Park Cemetery. A heartfelt thank you to the staff, nurses, nurse practitioners, and doctors of B3 and D2 at PRHC. In lieu of flowers, donations to Alzheimer Society of Peterborough, PRHC Foundation, or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
