It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of our beloved Yia Yia Lenia, who passed peacefully after a brief illness at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, with her husband Phaethon and daughter Marianne by her side, on Sunday, November 30, 2025.

Eleni (a.k.a. Eline)—affectionately known as Lenia—was the devoted soulmate and wife of Phaethon for 56 years. She is predeceased by her cherished son Christopher and her brother-in-law Hans. She will forever be remembered as the loving and proud mother of Tony (Elsa) and Marianne (Tom), and as a lifelong mother-in-law to Diane (Mark). Lenia was the adoring Yia Yia of Markos, Stathis, Evan, Bryce, Christopher, Eleni, and Lukas.

She will be deeply missed by her sister Anna in the U.S.A., her brother Chris (Mary) in England, her brother-in-law Lefteris (Cindy), and all her nieces, nephews, their partners, and children across the U.S.A., England, and Ontario.

Lenia will also be missed by many friends, koumbari, and extended family in Canada, the U.S.A., England, and Cyprus. She lit up every room she entered with her warm, loving nature, and her incredible sense of humour brought joy to all who knew her. She welcomed every conversation with an open heart and without judgment, and many cherished the comfort, kindness, and genuine love she offered so freely.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Extendicare Oshawa for the kindness and care they provided to Lenia over the past two and a half years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MS Society of Canada.
