With heavy hearts, we say goodbye to Ellen - cherished wife of Bob Syvertsen. Step-mother of Chelsie Syvertsen (Jordan Riel) and step-grandmother of Ryder, Rocky and Riley. Ellen’s life was filled with loving relationships. She will be remembered as the treasured daughter of the late Joseph and Joan. Ellen was loved dearly by her siblings Tom, Katie Norrad (Dan), Margaret Stewart, Nora Lewis (Ernie) and Mary Lou Dutton. A special Aunt to all her nieces and nephews who filled her life with great joy and love. Sister-in-law of Rick Syvertsen.

Ellen passed away with grace and courage at the age of 64, at her home on Sunday January 12th, 2025 with her loving husband Bob by her side.

The friendships Ellen made during her time here on earth were of great importance to her. A life full of friends brought her great joy. She is grateful for Gods plan, so many people being sent to enrich her life.

Ellen was proud of her career at the City of Peterborough as a Recreationist. She had the ability to touch lives and make a difference which she did each day. Ellen was an active member of the St. James United Church, spending time singing with the Choir of which she loved so much.

A very special thank you to Hospice Peterborough and Ellen’s family and friends who were always ready and willing to help Ellen through her end of life journey. Your strength and love were a great comfort to her

A Funeral Service will be held at St. James United Church, 221 Romaine St. Peterborough on Saturday January 18th, 2025 at 2:00P.M. A reception will follow in the church hall. Private interment St. Peter’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donation to the Peterborough Humane Society or the Lakefield Animal Welfare Society.
