It is with tremendous sadness and grief that the family of Eric William Emery announce his untimely passing after a brief illness on Saturday December 10^th, 2022 in Peterborough. Eric was 53 years old, just 11 days shy of his 54^th.

Eric grew up in Peterborough and had a very successful career as a land surveyor project manager and lead supervisor at GHD. Eric’s professional roots were grown at Geologic, and it was here he learned to be a natural leader respected by his colleagues, managing partners and all clients. Eric’s professionalism, business acumen and loyalty were traits admired by all.

Eric’s passions were wide ranging and varied from his love of the 49ers, the Maple Leaf’s, snowmobiling and his many successful years in drum corp, and most of all…his love of the cottage on Steenburg Lake. This cottage wasn’t just a cottage, it was his personal slice of heaven on earth. Eric behind the wheel of the pontoon boat listening to Tom Petty tunes is forever etched in everyone’s vivid memories.

Forever remembered as a loving and devoted son to Gayle & Kevin Wright. Dear brother to Kirk (Melody) and dear son-in-law to Patricia Westwood & Brian Hoffman. Survived by his brother-in-law Michael Hoffman (Danielle) and papa to fur baby Luna.

His devoted wife and best friend Tracy of 30 years will be without a piece of her heart forever. Tracy’s pet name for Eric was Bubba and Eric called Tracy baby daily...this will be missed dearly.

Friends and family are invited to HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE, 2510 Bensfort Road on Wednesday, December 14^th, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. for a service to commemorate Eric’s life.
