Evelyn C. Blake (Srivastava) nee van den Heuvel (Retired RPN)

Evelyn Blake of Peterborough passed away at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on December 20, 2025, in her 82nd year.

She was the loving mother of Jason A. Blake, and for the last 39 years, the loving wife of Ramesh Srivastava and stepmother of Brian Srivastava.

She was the daughter of the late Dirik and Christina van den Heuvel of the Netherlands and Cavan, sister of the late Hubert (Fenna) of Orono, and Willy (the late Stuart) of Cavan.

During her career she worked for the Civic hospital, Extendicare and Empress Gardens. Evelyn liked knitting, crocheting, sewing, reading novels, action movies, and caring for her beloved cats, Amee and previously, Dusty. 

Evelyn and Ramesh enjoyed traveling the world, including to various Canadian destinations, Japan, Egypt, Morocco, Scandinavia, and continental Europe.

The family would like to thank all the staff at PRHC, Peterborough Retirement Residence, Riverview Manor, and Highland Park Funeral Centre who supported Evelyn and family this year.

At Evelyn’s request there will be cremation and no service. Donations can be made to the PRHC Foundation, and the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
