George Bruce Axcell

Axcell, George Bruce – After a courageous battle with cancer, George passed away peacefully with his family by his side at his residence on Monday, June 3, 2019 at the age of 60. Cherished husband of Kathy Axcell (nee Dower) for nearly 37 years and companion for 44 years. Loving father of Stephanie Pellerine (Troy), Nate (Brenna) and Emily. Proud grandfather of Avery and Lucas. Beloved son of Larry (Jean) and the late Ellen Curtis and son-in-law of Menzie and Bea Dower. Dear brother of Charlie (Tammy), Shawn Vike (Janice) and brother-in-law of Cheryl Baker (Philip), David Dower and Faith Doran (Steve). Sadly missed by his Uncle Bruce Curtis (Sharon) and Aunt Amy Milburn (late Don).  Also missed his niece Brianne and nephews, Adam (Allison), Matt and Ty and many cousins. Friends will be received on Friday, June 7, 2019 from 12 – 12:45 p.m. at St. Luke’s Anglican Church (566 Armour Rd., Peterborough). A Memorial Service to Celebrate George’s Life will follow at 1 p.m. at St. Luke’s Anglican Church. Rev Glenn Empey officiating. Reception followed by interment at Little Lake Cemetery.
