Harold Samuel Barclay

BARCLAY, Harold Samuel – Passed away peacefully on Friday, September 8th, 2023 at Extendicare Peterborough in his 96th year.  Harold was born May 23, 1928 in Toronto to parents Sam and Florence Barclay.  Dear brother of the late Bob.  Devoted husband of the late Marina.  Beloved father of Dianne, Steven (Tina), Carol, Shelly Kingsberry (David) and the late Paul.  Grandfather of 10 and great-grandfather of 17.  He will be remembered by his many friends from St. Johns Centre.  Harold was affectionately known as the “King of Airplanes” and was a long-time member of the RCAF.  He retired from the Campbells Soup Company in 1990 after 39 years and 10 months of service. A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 16th, 2023 from 11 – 11:45 AM at HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE, 2510 Bensfort Road, Peterborough.  A Funeral Service will follow in the Highland Chapel at 12 noon.  Interment Highland Park Cemetery.  Reception to follow at the RCAF 428 Wing, 274 King Street.  In lieu of flowers, donations made to Foster Farm Animal Sanctuary would be greatly appreciated by the family.  Online condolences may be made by visiting www.highlandparkfuneralcentre.com.
