Ila Naomi Crichton

CRICHTON, Ila Naomi (nee REESOR) of Ennismore, Ontario passed away peacefully December 26, 2025, at age 95. Predeceased by parents Alice (nee Shadlock) and Alan Reesor, and her beloved husband of 64 years, Stewart “Scotty” Scott Crichton. She is survived by her dear brothers Lorne and Ivan Reesor. Ila was a loving mother to Suzanne (Ross Earnshaw), Ian (Marilyn), and Elaine (Stephen Mendola); grandmother to Kandra Jodrey (Gary Maguire), Tamika Jodrey (Beau Kelland), Ellika Crichton (Travis Tai), and Grace, Noah and Sam Mendola; and great-grandmother to Kailen Tai and Emily Maguire. Ila will be forever missed by the many friends she welcomed into her family over the years. Born on her family farm in Scarborough, Ontario, she attended Hillside P.S SS No.4, Markham High School, and was a nursing graduate of the Class of 1951 at Toronto East General Hospital. In addition to caring for her many patients over the years, Ila loved to paint, knit, read, garden, travel, and always had fresh baked goods ready for visitors. Most importantly, Ila treasured spending joyful time with family and friends. A special thank you to Peterborough Regional Hospital Palliative Care staff for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Peterborough Community Care. A private family internment will take place at Heritage United Church Cemetery, and a celebration of life will be held in the spring when the flowers bloom.
