It is with profound sadness and a very heavy heart that I, Heather Holland, announce the passing of my son Jason David Wiley on August 27th, in Grande Prairie Alberta, after a brief illness.
Jason was predeceased by his father, David Wiley (2008), his Grandparents, Joan and Harold Holland and Ray and Doris Wiley; his Uncle's David, Patrick and Mark Holland, Uncle Bob Wiley (Shirley) and Aunt Lynda Harrison (Barry). Jason is survived by his daughters Ashley Graham (Jackson) and Austine Wiley.
He will be forever loved and remembered by his sister Lisa Wiley-Borgman (Steve) and his niece Hailey Borgman and nephew Lukas Borgman. Remembered with love and fondness by his Uncle Robert Holland (Bonnie), his Aunt Mary Johnson (Eric), his Aunt Maureen Holland (George Kuehnbaum) and Uncle's Ron Wiley (Cathy), Garnett Wiley (Judy) and many cousins and friends.
Jason was a Peterborough boy, born and raised, graduating from Crestwood Secondary School in 1993. After graduation he obtained his class A driver's license and tried trucking for a few years. Trucking wasn't his calling, so he enrolled in the Police Foundations program at Sir Sandford Fleming college where he graduated with honours with a double major in police foundations and native studies. Jobs weren't plentiful in those fields when he graduated so he then took an accounting course at the Toronto School of business where he graduated with honours. He then took these skills and moved to Fort McMurray in 2006 where he obtained his Red Seal Certification as a diesel mechanic. He stayed in Fort McMurray until the fire in the summer of 2015 when they had to evacuate. He moved down to Red Deer and worked as a diesel mechanic for the next few years.
Jason loved the great outdoors, and Alberta provided him with the outdoor activities that he so enjoyed. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, snowmobiler, ice fisher and downhill skier. Alberta had it all and Jason made his home there until his passing.
May your soul rest in peace my son, until we meet again.
A memorial service will take place at HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE, 2510 Bensfort Road, Peterborough on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at 11 a.m. with interment and reception to follow.
