We are saddened to announce the passing of Jeffrey Allan Parkes of Ennismore, ON at the age of 84.
Jeff is preceded in death by his father Sidney and mother Violet (nee Maxwell) of Meaford, ON, and his brother Jim of Peterborough.
He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend Patricia (“Pat”), his son Steve (Kathryn) of Peterborough, his daughter Julie of Kingston and his dearly loved and cherished grandsons Colton and Jordan. He is also survived by his brothers John (Sharron) of Peterborough, Joel (the late Joan) of Toronto, Jay of Collingwood and nephews and nieces Jeff (Louise) of Toronto, Joel (Catherine) of Campbellford, Jim (Gwen) of Peterborough, Jennipher Bright (Dale) of Ottawa, Jilaine (David) of Stratford, Heather Garvock (Chad) of Port Perry, Elizabeth Stewart of Peterborough, Alice (Chris) of Montreal, Joanna (Robin) of Toronto, Courtney of Pickering, Brandon (Natalie) of Milton, Devon (Adam) of Toronto and many grand nieces and nephews.
Jeff was a retired owner of The Rehill Company Limited and for 50 years he faithfully upheld Rehill’s longstanding tradition of exceptional service and reliability to contractors and homeowners alike in the Peterborough region. He was a member and supporter of the Peterborough Homebuilders Association, The Peterborough and District Construction Association, The Peterborough Chamber of Commerce, The National Association of Brick Distributors and was a loyal member of the Castle Building Centres Group national buying cooperative for over 45 years.
He was a charter member of the Ennismore Optimist Club, an avid fan and season-ticketholder of The Peterborough Petes and the longest-running sponsor of Peterborough Minor Hockey in his support of The Rehill Major and Minor Bantam Petes. He was also a supporter of the PRHC Foundation and so many other valuable fundraising initiatives in the community.
Jeff will be remembered for his great sense of humour, his fun-loving spirit, his love of music, his treasured friendships, his fondness for his favourite pastimes: boating on Georgian Bay, fishing off the end of the dock, drinks on the deck, family vacations, reading; and for his fierce love of family. He will be forever in our hearts.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Celebration of Jeff’s Life at the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE, 2510 Bensfort Rd., Peterborough on Sunday, May 24, 2026. Words of Remembrances at 1:00 PM. Reception to follow.
