Joanne Katherine (Burns) Devlin

Joanne Katherine Devlin (née Burns) of Peterborough, Ontario, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2025, in her 80th year in Norwood, Ontario, surrounded by her devoted husband and three loving daughters, following a courageous battle with Lewy body dementia.

Born in Lindsay, Ontario, on June 2, 1945, Joanne lived a life defined by love, faith, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to her family. She began her professional journey as a Registered Nurse when she graduated from the St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in 1965. She went on to dedicate herself fully to raising her children and giving back to her community. Joanne was known for her warm and generous heart, her deep and enduring faith, her love of golf, and her passion for ornithology.

She was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, and will be profoundly missed by her loving husband of 57 years, James Devlin; her daughters Angela, Katherine, and Christine; and her treasured grandchildren: Maddy Antecol; Evan, Sean, Alex, and Josh Fortier; Tom Stauffer, Kaeleigh and James Thompson. Joanne is also lovingly remembered by her siblings Patricia Bellwood, Mike Burns, Doug Burns, Liz Crum, Brian Burns, Sandy Ryall, Cheryl-Ann Lynch, Bonnie Burns, and Lori Burns. She was predeceased by her brother, Jerry Burns.

Friends will be received for visitation at the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE, 2510 Bensfort Rd., Peterborough, Ontario, on Friday April 25th, 2025 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm.  A Funeral Mass will be held at ST. ALPHONSUS LIGUORI CHURCH, 1066 Western Avenue, Peterborough, Ontario on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.  Interment Little Lake Cemetery.  Reception to follow at Highland Park Funeral Centre.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Pleasant Meadow Manor in Norwood for their compassionate care, support, and guidance throughout this difficult journey.
