John (Jack) F. Haldimand

HALDIMAND, John (Jack) Fotheringham (January 17, 1922 – December 26, 2011) Passed away peacefully at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre. Jack grew up in Hampstead (Montreal), Quebec, eldest son of the late Percival and Anne (Lee) Haldimand.   Dear brother of the late Barbara Moore (Jim) and Peter Haldimand (Connie).    He served as a pilot in the RCAF, graduated with his Bachelor of Commerce degree (McGill University) in 1947 and became a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1950. Jack spent many summers in Dunany, Quebec where he met Anne Richardson (Mickey), his wife of 63 years.   Jack and Anne moved to Peterborough, Ontario in 1951 where Jack worked for many years at the Peterborough Lumber Company and RBC Dominion Securities.  Jack is remembered lovingly by his five children,  Cathy (Gery Czirjak), John (Heather Hamilton), Janet (Rob Burgess), Peter and Annie (John Tait), his six grandchildren, Lee Czirjak, Johnny and Micky Burgess, Peter Haldimand and Janet and Jack Tait, and his two great grandchildren, Isabelle and Sadie.  Jack loved to play golf at the Peterborough Golf and Country Club with his many good friends and spend summers with family and friends, especially Doug and Ollie Curry, at the cottage on Mississagua Lake.  Please join us for a Celebration of Life at the HIGHLAND PARK VISITATION & RECEPTION CENTRE (2510 Bensfort Road, Peterborough) on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 from 3 – 5 p.m.  A private family service will be held in Dunany, Quebec at a later date.   Donations to the Parkinson Society Canada, the Peterborough Regional Health Centre or your charity of choice are appreciated.
