Obituary

MARLER, Kathleen ‘Kay’  “Our earth angel has risen to heaven” peacefully on Monday, September 28th, 2026, in her 94th year.
Kay, beloved wife of 64 years to the late Bob Marler (d. 2021). Loving and devoted mother to Mark (Kathy), Miriam, and Alexis (Charlie d.) (Rick).
Cherished Grandmother of David, Maggie, Michael (Kaylee), Alicia (Andersen), Jennifer (Jeremy), and Great Grandmother of Dylan, Liam, Everly, Irrah, Payton, Kai and Quinn.
Dear sister of Monica (John d.), Joe (Mildred), and predeceased by her siblings Theresa, Betty, Roseline, Anne, Shirley, and Michael.
Remembered lovingly by her many nieces and nephews, an extension of gratitude, to the 3 pillars of support and care, Jean, Adrian, and Billy.
Daughter of the late Mickey and Kathleen McKinnon.

Loved by many, Kay was a woman with a sharp mind, a generous heart, and a giving spirit. She had a way of making everyone around her feel welcome and cared for.

Sunday dinners were a special part of her life. The table was always full, and you never quite knew who might be joining—but there was always room for one more. Their home was a place of warmth, laughter, good food, and togetherness.

Kay was incredibly generous with her time, her love, and her kindness. Through her years with the Red Cross, she touched the lives of many and formed lifelong friendships along the way. Caring for others came naturally to Kay, and the connections she made were treasured long after her working years were over.

Kay will be remembered for the love she poured into everyone, and the many lives she touched. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff at Station Place (heritage) for their upmost care, and compassion during Kay’s stay.

Visitation will take place at Highland Park Funeral Centre on Tuesday, October 6th from 12:00 noon to 2:00pm followed by a Memorial Service in the Highland Chapel at 2:00pm.

Father David West officiating. A light luncheon will follow the service.  Private interment St. Mary's Cemetery, Young’s Point at a later date.

In memory of Kay, and in lieu of flowers, donations to Alzheimer’s Society and The Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
