MOORE, Keith Leslie
Keith Leslie Moore, 87 passed away peacefully at Hospice Peterborough after a short illness with bowel cancer. Keith was also affectionately known as "the Candy Man" as he would love to tuck a Werther's Candy into your hand before parting ways.
Keith was the much-loved son of Mary and Leslie Moore who raised him on the banks of the Otonabee River on Wilson Street. He grew up having fun with his best friend Vince Kennedy (all pre-deceased).
Keith met the love of his life Margaret (Pearse) at the Memorial Center ice skating, and they married and had two children. Cathy Ruttle (Len) and Terry Moore (Janet). He was the best Papa to Jennifer Pavilonis (Joe) and Steven Ruttle (Caterina), and great grandpa to several grandchildren. Keith was Uncle to Andrea Pearse (Rick) and Steven (Carol). Special Papa to fur babies who will miss him.
Keith worked as a stone mason and brick layer for many years in Peterborough and the surrounding area. Keith helped build his home in Bridgenorth where the family lived and Keith and Margaret
raised their children. Keith and Margaret were married 65 years. They did everything together from roller skating
in the 80's, bike riding, to faithfully going to the park every day.
Keith will be missed by his long-time breakfast buddies Gord Harper and Bill McBain. They have faithfully met for years, and Keith valued their friendship.
Dad will be so missed. He had a solution for everything. He knew how to fix it or if not where to send you.
The family would like to thank Dr. Morelli for her wonderful care.
We wish to also thank the Palliative care unit and Hospice Peterborough for taking such great care of Keith and his family as well. At Keith’s request cremation has taken place and there will be a private family service held a later date.
In memory of Keith and in lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Peterborough would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences may be made at www.highlandparkfuneralcentre.com
