Kevin Scott Lackey

After a courageous battle with leukemia, Kevin Scott Lackey (aka Jan Douglas Hess), long time employee of Paxton Transport and member of the Otonabee South Monaghan Fire Service, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of family on Saturday, March 8th, 2025. Kevin was blessed with the love of two families. He was predeceased by his parents Wayne and Barb Lackey. Survived by his mother Donna Wakelin (Don) and father Bob Young (Wendy). Loving husband to Kelli (nee Adamson), and father to Cole Shearer (Trisha) and Kenton Lackey (Chiara). Cherished Grandpa, Grumpa and Gampy to Brooke and Kaycee Shearer, and Asher and Oakes Lackey. Big brother to Debbie Macphail, Kendra MacDonald (John), Grant Wakelin (Jaime), Craig Wakelin (Jill), Sheryl MacDonald (Sean), Joe Young (Tiffany), Bob Young and Tim Young. First son-in-law of Wayne (predeceased) and Patricia Adamson, and brother-in-law to Robin Adamson (Wendy) and Lynn Wilford (Mark). Much loved nephew of many aunts and uncles. Admiring uncle to many nieces and nephews. Special friend to Ron and Kim Loucks. Join family at a Celebration of Kevin’s Life in the Gathering Space, 431 Hiawatha Line, on Saturday, March 22, 2025, on what would have been Kevin’s 60th birthday. Visitation will begin at 1:00 P.M. with speeches at 3:00 P.M. Stay after and celebrate his special day!
