PARKES: Larry Allen
Larry passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at the age of 74. Beloved husband of the late Lynn Mary Parkes and father of Larry “Bea” (Lisa). Proud Grandpa of Riley and Olivia.
Larry will be missed by Kathy Parkes, Lynda Major (Larry Seens), Kim Fergusson, Steven Fergusson, Vicky (Dave) Matser, and Andrea Parkes. Predeceased by his father, Allen Parkes Sr., and brother, Allen Parkes Jr.
Dear brother-in-law of Betty Lightfoot, Connie (Gary) Shaw, and Joy (Terry) Blatz. Predeceased by his in-laws Lewers and Vivian Deyell; brothers-in-law Bob “Stretch” Deyell and Mark Deyell; and sister-in-law Bonnie Edgerton.
Larry will be remembered by his many nieces and nephews. He will be especially missed by his good friends Paula Hickey, Christina O’Neill, Janie McPhee, and Bonnie Lavoie for his TV suggestions, weather updates, and their daily chats about life, memories, politics, and everything in between. A heartfelt thank you to his PSWs, Gifty and Agnus, for their care, support, and friendship. A good friend to Bill W.
A private graveside service was held at Little Lake Cemetery. If desired, donations to the Breast Cancer Society of Canada or the Peterborough Humane Society would be appreciated by the family.
