It is with great sadness that the family of Linda Joan McMullen announce her passing. Born May 2, 1938 in Toronto, Ontario, Linda passed away March 11, 2025 in Peterborough, Ontario, at the age of 86. Predeceased by her parents, Kathleen (Kay) and George McMullen, her sister, Margie Lemon, and her beloved Aunt Marg Fitzpatrick. She will be missed by her brother Bob McMullen (Anne Marie), brother-in-law Morley Lemon (Sandra), nieces and nephews, Bill (Donna), Kelly-Anne (Pete), Jennifer (Juston), Julie (Don), and Mike (Jaci), great nephews and nieces, and her many great friends, both near and far. Linda is best remembered for her love and support of the arts, a passion that infused her profession as a teacher at PCVS for 27 years. Linda also had a generous spirit and supported the Peterborough Art Gallery, Jamaican Self-Help, Canadian Canoe Museum, and more recently volunteered at Curve Lake First Nation School. While born in Toronto, and a traveler of the world, Peterborough was truly her home town. Linda was a bon vivant, who loved life and people. She was a strong believer in truth and reconciliation, was an ally for Indigenous causes, and had a deep respect for Indigenous culture. Linda was an avid reader, who treasured books and learning, and loved the chance to discuss and debate. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice in Linda’s memory would be appreciated. A family celebration of life will be held later in the summer at the cottage on the Severn River.
