In Loving Memory of Lloyd Roger Nelson (1955–2026)

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Lloyd Roger Nelson, on August 30, 2026, at the age of 70. Born on October 28, 1955, Lloyd lived a life filled with love, hard work, and an unwavering devotion to his family.

Lloyd spent 40 wonderful years married to his wife Jennifer, the love of his life and his best friend. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, family, countless memories, and adventures.
He was the proud and loving father of Kaitlin (Rafael), Michelle (Tobin), and Nicholas (Christina), and the cherished grandfather of seven grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and whom he adored beyond words. 

Lloyd began his working life as a welder before building a long and respected career in municipal roads. He worked with the City of Brampton, eventually becoming a Superintendent, before continuing his career with Harvey Township in Buckhorn and later in Otonabee-South Monaghan. He wrapped up his career with the City of Kawartha Lakes as a Manager of Public Works before retiring.

While Lloyd was incredibly proud of his career, his greatest accomplishment was always his family. He lived for the people he loved and was the kind of person who was always there when someone needed him. He was generous with his time, had a wonderful sense of humour, and had a way of making people feel welcome. He was deeply loved by his large extended family, friends, and all those fortunate enough to know him.

Some of Lloyd’s happiest times were spent at the family cottage in Young’s Point, where he and Jenny spent much of their summers. The cottage was a place of family, laughter, memories, and togetherness.

Lloyd leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a family who will miss him more than words can express.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 13th at Highland Park Funeral Centre from 2-4 pm with words of remembrance at 3 pm.
