Lorna Dawn (Talbot) Hannon

It is with sadness we announce the passing of Lorna peacefully at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on December 7th, 2025, in her 95th year, born September 12, 1931, in Asphodel Township.

Predeceased by her parents, Edmund Talbot and Mabel Clare (Post) Talbot,

her sisters, Cherrie (Joe Teatro), Faye (Elwood Hall), brother, Donald (Carley), and son, Carl (Lynda).

She will be sadly missed by her children, Larry (Janice), Marlene Chaplin (Hugh), Trevor, David (Gail), Lesa Coulas (Mike) and Don (Heather) and daughter-in-law, Lynda. She was grandma to 16 grandchildren, Jeffrey, Michael, Mark, Michelle, Kattie, Chantelle, Lesa, Lindsey, Josh, Sherry, Trudy, Sarah, Jesse, Nick, Sean, and Victoria, and 38 great-grandchildren, 1 predeceased.

Lorna worked at Westclox from 1948 to 1950 and lived in Peterborough County most of her life. She worked at the Norwood liquor store and did house cleaning as well. In her later years she worked at the Civic Hospital until her retirement in 1994. She was often seen outdoors looking after her lawn and gardening.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Blake and nurses for taking care of her in the palliative care unit at PRHC in her last days. Also thank you to Ontario Health atHome for providing PSW support and care while mom was living at home.

In keeping with Lorna’s wishes, cremation has taken place at Highland Park Funeral Centre, Peterborough. A private family interment will be held at St. Andrews United Church Cemetery, Westwood at a later date.
