With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Margaret on April 9, 2025, just a month shy of her 71st birthday. Margaret passed peacefully in Peterborough, Ontario, surrounded by her loving family.
Margaret lived a life devoted to family. She was the devoted wife of Jim Bedard, with whom she built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love. Together, they raised four children: Jason (Julie), Amanda (Jay), Brad (Amanda), and Ray (Jessica)—each of whom brought immeasurable pride and joy to her life.
Margaret’s heart belonged to her nine beloved grandchildren—Grace, Ryan, Bryson, Aiden, Landon, Taylor, Duncan, Walter, and Sybil—who were her world. Her “happy place” was under the gazebo in the backyard, watching her grandkids play in the pool. Holidays, birthdays, or even the smallest excuse for a family get-together, lit up her life.
Margaret was the beloved sister of Bill Morrison (Heidi) and Cathy Morrison, and sister-in-law to Eric Bedard (Linda), John Bedard (Cindy), Michael Bedard, and Shan Bedard (Roly). She was predeceased by her parents, John and Thelma Morrison (née Lamb), and her siblings Jack (Gerry), Donny, Bobby, and Murray Morrison, as well as sister-in-law Cindy-Lee (Brian). She was a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews.
She loved to travel, especially on cruises, and made friends wherever she went, her kindness and warmth leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met. She was a lifelong best friend to Diane Fear (Matt) and countless others, all of whom she welcomed into her life with open arms and unreserved love.
Her children, grandchildren, family and friends were always included at holiday gatherings, a true reflection of the love and closeness that defined her life. For Margaret, family was everything.
Margaret leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and selfless devotion. She will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered.
