Margaret 'Clara' Clarabell (McCarrell) Heron

Heron, Margaret Clarabell (McCarrell) “Clara” passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, February 9, 2026 at Peterborough Regional Hospital at the age of 91. 

Clara was the beloved wife of Robert Heron “Bob” for 70 years. Clara was born in Lindsay Ontario August 15, 1934, to the (predeceased) Margaret Jane and (predeceased) Byron John McCarrell. Clara had two brothers (predeceased) Ross McCarrell (Mary) and (predeceased) Kenneth McCarrell (Nancy). Loving mother to her three girls Shelley (Paul), Julie (Andy), Bonnie (Rob). 

Clara will be forever cherished by her grandchildren and great grandchildren Justin (Chloe) Reese, (late) Kevin, Brittany (Brandon) Brooks, Clarissa, Brandon (Victoria) 

Clara will be remembered forever by her many friends, sister-in-law’s, brother-in-law’s, nephews and cousins. 

Visitation will take place on Friday, February 13, 2026, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE, 2510 Bensfort Road, Peterborough.

A funeral service to honour Clara will occur at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2026, in the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL with reception to follow. 

In memory of Clara, donations to the Peterborough Regional Health Centre, the Canadian Mental Health Association or the Alzheimer Society of Canada would be appreciated.
