McDOUGALL, Marion Eileen (née Douglas)
Peacefully, with her family by her side, Marion passed away at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Saturday, July 12, 2025, in her 84th year.
Beloved wife of the late Clarence McDougall, with whom she shared 50 wonderful years. A devoted and loving mother to Judy Brook (Rick), Richard McDougall, and the late Kevin McDougall. Treasured grandmother to Amanda Brook (T.J.), Carley Brook (Pete), Ricky, Rory, Kyle McDougall (Amanda), and Kayla Levesque (Dylan), and cherished great-grandmother to many. Marion will be deeply missed by her dear friend Don Fitzsimmons.
She is predeceased by her sister Jean Elliott (Junior, predeceased), and her brothers Bill Douglas (Grace) and John Douglas (Bev, predeceased). She is lovingly remembered by her sisters-in-law Alma McDougall, Shirley Robinson, Dokey McDougall, and Wynona Black, as well as by many nieces and nephews. Daughter of the late Stanley Douglas and Audrey McFadden, Marion leaves behind a legacy of love, care, and strength.
Marion spent over four decades with Toronto Dominion Bank, building a career marked by dedication and integrity. Beyond her professional life, she was a natural caregiver, generously giving her time to look after family, friends, and neighbours, especially when they were ill or in need. She took great pride in having babysat all of her grandchildren and was the one they turned to when home sick from school, a day filled with love, comfort, and Grandma’s full attention.
Marion also found joy in volunteering, whether selling 50/50 tickets at the trailer she shared with Clarence or offering her time at Extendicare Peterborough. Her warmth, generosity, and gentle spirit touched the lives of all who knew her.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation at Highland Park Funeral Centre on Thursday, July 17th from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., followed by a service in the Highland Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Interment at Highland Park Cemetery will follow, with a light luncheon afterward.
In memory of Marion, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be gratefully appreciated by her family. Online condolences may be shared at www.highlandparkfuneralcentre.com.
