Marjorie "Meg" Durant Obituary

DURANT, Marjorie "Meg" Agnes (nee Benson) - Passed away peacefully at Princess Gardens on Wednesday, February 14th, 2018 in her 98th year. Meg: beloved wife of the late William Campbell Durant; devoted mother of John (Rita) and Peter (Mary); and cherished Nana of Jeremy (Jackie), Shawn (Hannan), Matthew (Adri) and Derek. Meg is predeceased by her parents Herman and Agnes Benson (nee Carnegie).  Peterborough has been Meg’s home from a young age.  Meg attended Trent University as a mature student, graduating coincidentally, in the same year as her sons graduated from university and high school.  In addition to her family, some of her passions were playing bridge, gardening, and spending time at the family cottage.   Meg was active in the community with groups such as the Art Association, Historical Society, and Trinity United Church.  She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew her.  Special thanks to Dr Richard and the staff of Princess Gardens for all of their help and support.  In keeping with Meg's wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a Memorial Service for Meg at Princess Gardens, 100 Charlotte St on Monday February 26th at 3pm.  In lieu of flowers, donations to Trinity United Church, Canadian Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. Expressions of condolence may be made at www.highlandparkfuneralcentre.com

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
