MANLEY, Mark Maurice

Peacefully at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Friday, October 27, 2023, in his 79th year.  Beloved husband of Lucy (nee Szaranski) for 55 years.  Loving father of Dale.  Cherished grandfather of Harlen.  He leaves behind his sisters Sue Martin (Bob), June Szaranski (Alek), Joyce Laba (Rick), Edith Duggan (Bill Buchanan), and his brother Tom Manley predeceased by brothers David Manley and Ray Manley, and his parents Mary (nee Irwin) and Douglas Manley.  Sadly missed by his nieces and nephews.

Mark was the owner of Mark Manley Welding Ltd. for many years being well known for manufacturing truck dump boxes and trailers and repairs to heavy equipment.  Another operation he ran was D & M Snow Removal during the winter.  His love of boating took him eventually to Lake Ontario where he began a Charter Fishing business during the summer months out of Port of Newcastle on his 38 ft. Bayliner TOPCATCH.  He was also involved with organizing an annual Fishing Derby there.  Besides fishing Mark also enjoyed deer and moose hunting.

Friends will be received at the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE, 2510 Bensfort Rd., Peterborough on Tuesday from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 PM.  Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at 11:00 AM in the Highland Park Funeral Centre.  Interment St. Mark’s Anglican Cemetery, Otonabee.  Reception to follow in the Highland Park Reception Centre.  In Memory of Mark and in lieu of flowers, donations to PRHC Palliative Care Unit, Peterborough Humane Society or the charity of your choice.  Online condolences may be made at www.highlandparkfuneralcentre.com
