Mary "Joan" Harris Obituary

(Vice President of Harco Enterprises)

---

While surrounded by her loving family, Joan passed away peacefully at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Wednesday, December 22nd, 2021 at the age of 85. Beloved wife of 60 years to the late Raymore “Ray” Harris. Loving mother of Terry Harris (Linda) and Kathy Perry. Cherished grandmother of Stephen (Liz), Danielle (Curtis) and Cameron (Deanna) Harris, and Ryan (Amber) and Curtis (Amber) Perry, great-grandmother of Bella, and loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.  Dear sister of Carl Blondin (Cathy) and sister-in-law of Grace Blaskievic. Joan is predeceased by her parents Fred and Carrie Blondin, brother Raymore Blondin, brother-in-law John “Jack” Harris, and sister-in-law Muriel Harris.

Joan was a very hard worker and wonderful role model. Her early working years started off at Civic Hospital. After graduating school she obtained full time work at General Electric. While raising her family Joan worked together with her husband Ray, to get a new company off the ground called Harco Enterprises. Through their life partnership and dedication, the business flourished over the years. She always took an active role in the company and together they left a legacy.

Joan was a longtime and very active member of St. James United Church as well as an active member of the St James UCW. She was a wonderful kind and loving mother and grandmother, always welcoming family and friends into her home and the family cottage. Her home was a great source of enjoyment, and she was passionate about gardening and decorating. She will be sadly missed by all that knew her.
