MCGILLEN, Patrick Charles (Long Time Employee of Canadian General Electric)
Peacefully with family by his side at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Thursday, July 10, 2025 in his 84th year. Pat, beloved husband of sixty one years to Frances (nee Allen). Loving and devoted father of Michael and his wife Karen, and predeceased by his son James (d. 1995). Cherished Poppa to Danielle, and Matthew. Dear brother of Maureen Day, Katherine Shortall (Peter), Gerry McGillen (Carole), Loretta McGillen, Charlene Manson (Bill, predeceased), and Joan Morton, predeceased (Don, predeceased). Dear brother-in-law of Mary (Norm), Rose, Phillip, predeceased (Kathy), Gerrard (Linda), Ralph (Judy), and Paul (Blanche predeceased). Son of the late Charles McGillen and Loretta Reynolds. Pat was born and raised in Peterborough. He loved the outdoors where he would develop a life long love for hunting and fishing. For years he as a Peterborough Lakers season ticket holder and for decades cheered on his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs. As much as he loved his cottage and sanctuary on the Otonabee River. Pat was happiest when he was surrounded by his grandkids Danielle and Matthew. Visitation to take place at Highland Park Funeral Centre on Thursday, July 17th from 4:00 to 7:00pm (Rosary 7:00pm). Funeral Mass in Our Lady of the Assumption Church on Friday, July 18th at 12:00 pm. Interment Highland Park Cemetery followed by a light luncheon in Highland Park Reception Centre.
