Perry Scott Gummerson

GUMMERSON, Perry Scott Peacefully surrounded by his loving family on September 16, 2026, at the age of 78. Perry was the beloved husband of the late Bonnie (2020), with whom he shared many wonderful memories and a love that remained a cherished part of his life. He was a loving father to Cheryl Whalen (John), Cathy Babcock (Paul), and Jennifer Garnett, and a caring stepfather to Angela Flood (Jim) and Melissa Pollock (Andrew). He was a proud and much-loved grandfather to Timothy, Lily, Steffan, Brittney, Alexis, Mackenzie, Kaitlyn, Sara, Hailey, Ashlee, Morgan and Lincoln, and a great-grandfather to Lilly. Perry treasured every one of them and took great pride in watching his family grow. He was the brother of Peter Gummerson (Doris). Perry was a man who knew how to make memories. He will always be remembered for his famous “Perry-isms”—the sayings and expressions that were uniquely his and often brought a smile or a laugh to those around him. He had a passion for a good paint job on a car, enjoyed boating and being out on the water, and especially treasured the many happy times spent at the trailer in Keene with Bonnie. For Perry, family was everything. The time spent together, the stories shared, the laughter, and the memories created will remain close to the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His children, grandchildren and great-grandchild held a very special place in his heart, and his love for them will continue to live on through the family he was so proud of. Perry leaves behind a lifetime of memories, a collection of stories and Perry-isms that will continue to be shared, and a family who will carry his love with them always. A graveside service will be held at Highland Park Cemetery, 2510 Bensfort Road, on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.  If desired, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
