Philip Verne Sackrider

SACKRIDER, Philip Verne (Avid Fisherman and Outdoorsman, Retired General Motors ): After a long and courageous battle at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Monday, April 29, 2019 in his 75th year. Phil, beloved husband of 50 years to Helen (nee Sharpe). Loving and devoted father of Peter, and Susan (Will Hutchinson). Cherished Grandpa of Parker. Dear brother of Jane Parks (Cliff, predeceased), and Nancy Searight (Larry). Sadly missed by Wayne Eason who was raised in the Sackrider home and was like a brother to Phil, and cousin John Oke. Remembered lovingly by his sisters-in-law Linda Annis (Brian), Mary Arthur (Murray), brother-in-law Gordon Sharpe (Brenda), and many nieces and nephews. Phil's family would like to thank the Doctor's and Nurses in PRHC Palliative Care as well as the homecare PSW's for the care and compassion shown to Phil during his illness.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service in the Chapel of HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE, 2510 Bensfort Road on Saturday, May 4th, 2019 at 11:00 am. Reverend Lyle Horn officiating. Interment Highland Park Cemetery followed by a reception in the Highland Park Reception Centre.
