Philip Kent Shaw

A Celebration of Life will be held on
Saturday, May 31, 2025 from 1:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M.
at the Buckhorn Community Centre, 1782 Lakehurst Road, Buckhorn, Ontario.

It is with great sadness that the family of Phil Shaw announce his peaceful passing on Friday January 17, 2025 with his devoted wife Debbie by his side in the care of Hospice Peterborough. Phil fought a lengthy 14-month battle with cancer. Phil fought hard and was positive throughout but could no longer fight this battle. 
Phil, in his 70th year is survived by his wife and best friend of 23 years, Deb Shaw (nee Bridgeman), his mother Esme Olds, brother Paul (Sandra) Petroski, children J.P Shaw (Nancy), Chris Shaw (Terri-Lynn), Kristene Glinz (Aaron), Andrew Heale (Kim), grandchildren Jaydin, Kendra, Madison, Charlie, Hayden, Paisley, Lauryn, Noah, Brodie, and nieces and nephews. Phil was a devoted husband, son, brother, father, Papa and cherished friend to so many. 
Phil was an Owner/Operator Truck Driver for over 40 years. Phil had a love for boating, fishing, and snowmobiling. His love for his family and grandchildren kept him busy clearing the ice for skating, waterfront ready for swimming, boating and water sports for everyone to enjoy. He was meticulous when it came to property upkeep, cutting the lawn on his tractor and trimming. He always loved to hang out with his friends at the local Marina. Phil may have come across to most as serious, but those who knew him, knew he was a kind and soft teddy bear inside. 
The family would like to thank all the caring staff at Hospice Peterborough and the Peterborough Cancer Care for their compassionate care. A special thank you to Dr. Sandra Khan, Dr. G. Chandhoke, Dr. Mallory for all their support.
