SCHAPER, Reanne Marie  “J.J”

Peacefully at Hospice Peterborough on Saturday, April 11, 2026 in her 84th year.  Beloved wife of Walter Dobrew for 56 years.  Sister of Ives Simard, Getane Simard, Mariette Simard, Christine Simard, Giselle Jolin, Ginette Simard and Huegette Simard.  Sadly  missed by her many nieces and nephews.  J.J was a very successful businesswoman working side by side with her husband Walter.  With her conviction, understanding of life, leadership, and undisputed support in business, J.J still had time in helping to build Habitat for Humanity.  J.J. always had time for her family and friends.  Always there for them for guidance support and help when they needed it.  She was a sports enthusiast, participating in cycling, tennis, skiing, and dragon boating where she participated, cheered and help with the International Dragon Boat competition held in Peterborough on the 10th anniversary.  Later in life J.J. found music and ballroom dancing.  The French horn intrigued her and she had great joy learning to play ait and joining an orchestra. There will be a Celebration of Life Reception for  Reanne held at the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE, 2510 Bensfort Rd., Peterborough on Thursday, May 21, 2026 from 2:00-4:00 PM.  In memory of Reanne, and in, lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Peterborough would be appreciated by the family.  Online condolences may be made at www.highlandparkfuneralcentre.com
