Richard “Rick” Paul Carswell passed away suddenly in his 69th year on Friday, December 16th in Peterborough, Ontario. Rick was born in Queensborough on February 12th, 1954. Rick is survived by his wife Judy Carswell, daughters Lesley Carswell-Gilbert (Dave) and Katie Carswell (Josh Gomez). He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren Grayson, Nathan, Ayla, Nora and Harlow, as well as his beautiful dog Daphne. He is predeceased by his parents Clifford and Teresa Carswell of Madoc and his two brothers Jim and Rob Carswell. Rick is also survived by his sisters Marlene Bronson (Ken), Cheryl Towns (Larry) and Jane Charest (Ray) and will be missed by many of his nieces and nephews.
Rick could often be found tinkering in his garage, in the arena cheering on his favourite hockey players, on the golf course or sitting by the lake. His grandchildren will forever remember the time they spent in the boat with him.
Friends will be welcomed at the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE, 2510 Bensfort Road, Peterborough on Wednesday, December 21st, 2022 from 2 -4 and 6 – 8 PM. Funeral Mass will be held at 11AM on Thursday, December 22nd, 2022 at Saint Anne's Parish, 859 Barnardo Avenue, Peterborough. Burial and reception to follow at Highland Park Funeral Centre.
