In Loving Memory of
Riley Richard Riel
April 28, 2003 – September 19, 2026
It is profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Riley Richard Riel, 23, from Indian River, Ontario on September 19, 2026
Riley was born April 28, 2003. With his beautiful smile and infectious laugh, he brightened the lives of all that knew him. Riley was naturally good at everything he put his mind to. He had a fierce, stubborn determination and excelled at achieving every goal he set for himself. Riley attended St Joseph’s in Douro, creating the firsts of many friendships. He grew up playing hockey for the Douro Dukes and was a skilled goalie. With his teammates, he won OMHA championships in 2015/16 and 2018/19. He excelled at soccer, baseball, track and field and played football while attending Thomas A Stewart high school winning a COSSA championship. Riley went on to become a talented musician, which was his passion and led to performing concerts throughout Peterborough, Toronto and Montreal. He had a natural captivating stage presence that will never be forgotten.
Riley will forever be missed by his parents Jordan and Chelsie, his siblings Ryder, Rocky, Andrea, Victoria, Mekayla and Jaxon, his Gma and Papa Richard and Debbie Riel, his Uncles, Aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, many more family members, his girlfriend Lexi and an incredible amount of friends. Riley is predeceased by his grandparents the late Robert Syvertsen and Ellen Stewart. Riley truly touched and brought light to everyone he met. Heaven just got a little brighter and a whole lot louder. #rolldukes #d$4L #rielnation
