It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) |Lafleche, on September 17th, 2026, at the age of 87. He will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Mildred (Millie); his three children, Tracey (Terry), Robert Jr (Beatriz), Susan (Shane); his five grandchildren, Cait (Bart), Zachary (Tam), Blake, Grace and Gabrielle; and his four great-grandchildren, Gray & Will, Ares and Alina. He will also be deeply missed by his siblings, extended family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. Bob was born in Sturgeon Falls ON to Simon and Edna Lafleche. The oldest of thirteen children, Bob was a natural leader who always had a deep appreciation for family. Family was at the heart of his life, and there was nowhere he would rather be than surrounded by the people he loved. Throughout his life, Bob wore many hats. He was a prospector, an Ontario Provincial Police officer, an avid sportsman, angler, and hunter. He was a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus, an organization that held an important place in his life. He was a man who never sat still. But when he did it was with a glass of wine and a cigar. There was always something to do, somewhere to go, a story to tell, or an adventure waiting to be had. He loved the outdoors, loved being active, and embraced life with curiosity and determination. But of all the roles he held throughout his life, none was more important—or more cherished—than being a grandfather. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. He treasured every moment with them, and they will carry with them the memories of his love, his stories, his laughter, and the countless ways he made them feel special. He was, quite simply, the best grandfather. His legacy lives on through the family he loved so dearly and the many memories he leaves behind. Though he will be profoundly missed, his spirit, his stories, and his love for his family will remain with them always. Rest peacefully, Bob. You lived a full life, loved deeply, and will never be forgotten.
There will be a Funeral Mass Held at the CATHEDRAL OF ST. PETER-IN-CHAINS, 411 Reid Street Peterborough on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at 10:30 AM. Reception to follow in the Knights of Columbus. In memory of Bob and in lieu of flowers, donations to Princess Margaret Hospital would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences may be made at www.highlandparkfuneralcentre.com
