Robert 'Bob' Bruce Ryley

RYLEY, Robert Bruce ‘Bob’: Peacefully at Springdale Country Manor with family by his side on Saturday, July 30, 2022 in his 85th year. Bob, beloved husband of 59 years to Leah (nee McCullough). Loving and devoted father of Randy and his wife Kim, and Darlene Willis and her husband Kirk. Cherished Grandfather of Dylan, Taite, Cole, Rob, and Jessica. Dear brother of Harry Ryley (Hazel, predeceased) and brother-in-law of Joyce Van Beek (John), and Joan Robbins (Percy, predeceased). Remembered lovingly by Harry and Hazels daughters Marlene (Peter), and Susan (Kym) and their children Kristin and Jason along with several nieces, nephews and extended family. For many years Bob and  Harry worked at the family Ryley General Store where they met countless friends. Bob was an athlete and loved playing all sports but was particularly fond of baseball and for many years enjoyed coaching baseball at various levels. He was active in the community, with Bethany United Church, a volunteer with the Bethany Fire Department for 30+ years, and assisted in the building of the original Bethany Fire Hall. Bob spent 70+ years devoted as a committee member of the Bethany Athletic Society.   Bob was always the first person to welcome residents into the community and provide them with many details of the history of Bethany.  His family would like to thank the caring workers of Springdale Country Manor and Dr. Van Loon for their care of Bob these past few years. Visitation will take place in Bethany United Church on Saturday August 6, 2022 from 10:00am to 1:00pm followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00pm.  Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lifford. In his memory, donations to Bethany United Church, Bethany Athletic Society, or St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lifford would be appreciated by the family.
