Robert "Bob" Donald Smith

SMITH, Robert Donald (General Electric Employee of 43.5 years and life-long member of Peterborough Lodge #155 and the Corinthian Lodge) – While surrounded by his loving family, Bob passed away peacefully at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at the age of 86. Beloved husband and best friend of Jean (nee Rathbun) for 66 years. Loving and devoted father of Steven (Wendy), Sue Gauthier (Mike), Cathy Morrison (Warren) and Jim (Lois). Proud grandfather of Adam, Ashley (Shane), Alex, Chandra (Mark), Meaghan and the late Michael Gauthier Jr. Adoring great-grandfather of Loretta and Erika. Cherished brother of Grant (Ginny), Aileen Langewisch and Barbara Mowat and brother-in-law of Jean Smith and Jane Rathbun. Dear uncle to many nieces and nephews. Bob is predeceased by his parents Donald Smith and Mabel (nee Pasaw), brothers Orvell and Allen, brothers-in-law Bob Langewisch and Ron Rathbun and sister-in-law Helen Smith. Bob was a family man who always put his family first. To him, they were his joy. He had many other interests, traveling and reading to name a few. He will be sadly missed and his love will continue to be felt by us all. In keeping with Bob’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE, 2510 Bensfort Road, on Friday, October 25th, 2019 from 4:00 P.M. until the time of the Memorial Service at 5:00 P.M. Following the service will be a reception in the Highland Park Reception Centre. Interment to take place at Albury Cemetery (Albury, Ontario) at a later date.
