Ronald Hart Obituary

HART, RONALD “Ron”

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we inform you of the peaceful passing of our dear dad, Ron, on May 14, 2021 at the age of 67. A loving and devoted dad to his daughters, Amanda (David) and Freya. A caring friend of his former wife, Elisabeth. Proud grandpa of Hudson and Malia. Dear brother of Catherine (Barclay), Alec, Joseph (Wendy) and predeceased by his brother Robert (Lorraine). Remembered fondly by his nieces and nephews. Son of the late Robert and Janet.

Ron will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends, in both Canada and Scotland, as a supportive and proud dad and grandpa, a great friend, a wonderful neighbour, and a genuine asset to the community. He lived life on his own terms and spent many of his years retired from GM in the service of others. He was a wealth of knowledge with a great love for music and motorcycles, and could fix just about anything.

In light of current health restrictions, a private family celebration of life will take place at a later date. The family would like to thank Dr. Christopher Blake for his kindness and compassion, and all the staff at Peterborough Regional Health Centre Palliative Care department.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the SickKids Foundation.

“An honest man lies here at rest,

As e’er God with His image blest:

The friend of man, the friend of truth;

The friend of age, and guide of youth:

Few hearts like his, with virtue warm’d,

Few heads with knowledge so inform’d:

If there’s another world, he lives in bliss;

If there’s none, he made the best of this.”

-Robert Burns, Epitaph on a Friend
