GUNTER, Roy Owen
With heavy hearts, we are sad to announce the passing of Roy Owen Gunter, who went to rest on July 13, 2025 in his 83rd year. Roy passed peacefully at St. Joseph’s at Fleming with his loving wife of 45 years, Patsy, by his side.
Roy was a proud TTC employee, known for his quiet strength, dedication, and love of cars, woodworking, and the Toronto Maple Leafs. He faced life’s challenges, including a stroke at age 50, with resilience and grace.
Roy was a proud father to Ashleigh (Mike), Evan (Kaela), and Lindsay (Cody), as well as a loving brother to Glen and Gloria. Predeceased by his parents Russell and Valerie, and sister Elaine (Don). “Papa Fus” will be greatly missed by grandchildren Dhylin, Dawson, and Joey, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Roy's final resting place will be at St. John’s Anglican Cemetery in Ida. A private celebration of life will be held by his family. Roy’s family are most grateful for the love and support of the staff at St. Joseph’s at Fleming. In his memory, donations may be made to the St. Joseph’s at Fleming Foundation at www.sjfltc.com/sjf_foundation. Online condolences may be shared at www.highlandparkfuneralcentre.com.
