Passed away peacefully at Hospice Peterborough on October 8, 2025. Surrounded by the love of his family, in his 50th year.
Beloved husband of Kerry O’Leary of 23 years. Loving father of Dalton (Kayla), Kyrianne (Jacob), and Jarrett-Thomas. Proud Grandpa/Papa to Emilia and Poppy.
Cherished son of Don and Sharon O’Leary, and dear brother of Anita (Cam) and Bernadette.
Beloved son-in-law of Harold and Sharon Van Luven, & brother-in-law to Edward and Ruth Poley and James and Shelley Pakenham.
Fondly remembered by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Born and raised on the family farm in Lindsay, Ontario, Scott grew up caring for animals, driving tractors, and baling hay, learning the importance of family, teamwork, and lending a helping hand. A Durham College graduate in Civil Engineering (1996). He dedicated 24 years to Promark-Telecon with skill, loyalty, and kindness.
Scott’s courage in his lifelong battle with cancer was nothing short of heroic. Through many rounds of chemotherapy and surgeries, he met each challenge with remarkable strength and grace, inspiring all who knew him. A proud Terry Fox Run participant for 45 years, Scott raised over $13,000 in 2025 alone. A reflection of his determination, compassion, and the generosity that defined his life.
Above all, Scott’s greatest joy in life was his family. He loved every moment spent together, days at the farm, family adventures, and the simple, tender times with his granddaughters, reading stories and sharing snuggles. His love for his family was immeasurable and unwavering, a constant source of strength and warmth that will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Visitation will take place at HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE, 2510 Bensfort Road, Peterborough, on Friday, October 24th from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
