Shane Gordon Stewart

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Shane Gordon Stewart at the Palliative Care Unit in Peterborough, Ontario in his 67th year. Born May 3rd, 1958. Shane will be deeply missed and was the beloved son of Lorraine Stewart (nee Skinner) and the late Gordon Stewart.

Shane will be lovingly remembered by his sister Laura Pollock (Paul), and his cherished niece and nephew Christine Pollock (Zach Armstrong) Ryan Pollock (Danielle Derrett), and great nieces and nephews Haylee, Carter, Holden, Emma and Jake.

Shane faced a long 2 year struggle with Cancer, but with the support of his family and the amazing Palliative Care Team, they gave him comfort and dignity as he worked his way through this very difficult time.

He found peace and purpose through art, gardening, playing the drums at his church, nature, and fishing. He had a great sense of humor and a laugh that we will never forget.

His family take comfort in knowing that Shane is now reunited with his father, casting lines into still waters under endless skies together.

If desired and in memory of Shane, donations to the PRHC Palliative Care Unit would be appreciated by his family.

A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
