Obituary

KING, Sharen Wanda - After a lengthy battle with Ovarian Cancer, it is with deep sadness that the family of Sharen Wanda King announce her passing on April 23, 2022, in the City of Peterborough.

Sharen was a consummate business woman during her long and varied career as an accountant.

Sharen was a loving spouse to Barry Wilcox, a wonderful Mother to Robin Jarvis (Brent Johnson) and Thomas Campbell. Grandmother to Kyle Babcock (predeceased), Kaitlyn Kennedy (Adam Crowe), Kenny Jarvis (Jessica Mathews) as well as her pride and joy her Great Granddaughters Aria and Kairi. Sharen was a loving Aunt to Scott Kennedy (Linda Levesque) and Great Aunt to Justin and Sarah. Sharen was blessed to be a life long friend and sister-in-law to Helen MacMillan.

Nothing brought more joy to Sharen's life than her family. Planning family events was her favourite thing to do. Always with great consideration of the celebration at hand.

Sharen in her younger years, loved to travel to warm destinations, but she was also an avid skier. She enjoyed long walks in the local parks with Barry by her side. Sharen and Barry enjoyed many, many years on Lower Buckhorn Lake at their trailer, where they enjoyed time with many friends and wonderful views.

Sadly, Sharen had endured great loss. Both her younger sister Pat Ucci and brother Gary Kennedy predeceased her, along with her Mother, Father, Grandparents and her beloved first Grandson Kyle who passed suddenly just last July in Calgary, Alberta.

Sharen was a pillar of strength. Sharen fought her battle with the insidious disease with great dignity. Sharen belonged to a grief group at Hospice Peterborough where she was known to be kind and generous to those battling their disease and we are told very funny. Her laugh, her sense of humour will be deeply missed by us all.

It is the family's hope that her final journey brings her together with those she loved and lost.

May heaven wrap its warm arms around her to keep her and comfort her.

RIP you are missed.
