JENSEN, Shirley Lenore
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Shirley Lenore Jensen (nee Anderson) at the Queensway Carleton Hospital on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 in her 94th year.
Shirley was the devoted wife of 68 years to Charles (Bus) Jensen and proud, adoring mother to predeceased infant daughter Karen, and sons David (Anne Louise) and Paul (Janet). Shirley was a loving sister to Marion Stevenson (Jack, predeceased) and her predeceased brothers Donald (Verna), William (Margaret, predeceased), and Kenneth (Eleanor, predeceased), and a wonderful sister-in-law to her brothers-in-law Cary (Val), Carl (Marlene), and Clare (predeceased).
Shirley was the best grandma and will be deeply missed by her five grandchildren, Michael (Morgan), Connie (Eric Sullivan), Rebecca (Andrew McIntyre), Charlie, and Molly. She lit up at the sight of her five great-grandchildren, Carter, Taylor, Tate, Jensen, and Riley.
Shirley spent most of her life in Peterborough, before moving to Carp to be closer to family, where she resided for the past six years. Besides spending time with family, Shirley loved cheering on the Maple Leafs and playing Scrabble and Bingo. Her incredible memory, sharp and vivid until her final days, never ceased to amaze us.
Special thanks to all of the staff at Carp Commons Retirement Village and to the doctors and nurses at the Queensway Carleton Hospital for their compassionate care. Details for a celebration of life will be shared at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation and the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
