It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Silas Charles John Bulpit, known to all as John or Jack, on October 16, 2025, in Peterborough, Ontario, surrounded by love.
Born in Toronto, John spent most of his life in Oshawa, where he built a life rooted in kindness, patience, and generosity. After 36 dedicated years working in the office at CN Rail, John retired to enjoy the things he loved most — fishing, camping, traveling, collecting stamps, and refinishing wood furniture. He had a special knack for finding discarded pieces, restoring them with care, and donating them wherever they were needed.
John was deeply proud to have seen Canada from coast to coast, and even more proud of the life and family he shared. He often said he had a wonderful life — and those who knew him would wholeheartedly agree.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 57 years, Kathryn (Bramhill) Bulpit; his son Michael and daughter-in-law Heather; his cherished grandchildren Abigail, Claire, Jessica, Megan, and Braydon; and his dear sister Mary Davis.
A private family interment will take place at a future date.
John’s legacy of kindness, quiet strength, and generosity will live on in all who had the privilege to know him.
