Steven Edward Deal "Dealer"

July 14, 1954 ~ April 30, 2026 (age 71) 71 Years Old

Obituary

After a brief but strong battle with Cholangiocarcinoma and cardiac illness. Steve passed away peacefully on his own terms, after enjoying a final laugh, his favourite music, and a beer with his family by his side.

Loving husband of Adele (Harris) for 43 years.  Proud Dad to Steven Jr. (Michelle), Melissa (Sheldon), Danielle (Chris), and Kortney (Craig). The best Poppa to Mack, Ryder, and Summer, and Grandpa to Cassandra, Brad, and Angel. Brother to Carolynn.

Steve and Adele raised their family on Rice Lake, where he loved fishing, hunting, boating, snowmobiling, he was always sharing stories about life on the lake.

Steve retired from General Electric in 2014 after 40 years of service.  During this time he worked in various departments but spent most of his career as a Mechanical Industrial Millwright, in AC Traction.

At 16 years old, Steve attempted to save a young boy from drowning. For this act of bravery he was awarded the Carnegie Medal, one of North America’s highest civilian honours for heroism.

Hockey was another lifelong passion. Steve coached many levels over the years, including a AAA Juvenile team which won a OMHA Championship and The All Ontario Finalists

A devoted fan of the New York Rangers, Steve’s loud “Let’s Go Rangers!” chant could be heard echoing through the room.

Throughout his life, Steve achieved many accomplishments, formed lifelong friendships, and left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

Special thank you to the incredible doctors and nurses at PRHC Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Cancer Care Clinic and ICU for their compassion, care, and support.
