Obituary

Stewart Herbert MacEachern 1948 - 2026, 77 of Peterborough, Ontario, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on January 18, 2026.
Stewart lived for his family and leaves a legacy of strength, integrity and perseverance.
He was born in Bancroft, Ontario to Roy and Ann MacEachern and spent his childhood years living in Frankfort, Manitoulin Island and Brantford. Stewart attended Mohawk College, worked at GE Canada for more than 30 years and volunteered his time coaching hockey and baseball.
Stewart is predeceased by his loving wife of 50 years Nancy MacEachern (nee Ketcheson) and survived by his three beloved children Andy MacEachern (Shanna Howson), Ro MacEachern (Tracy LeMoine) and Barbara-Ann MacEachern (Mike Wagar), seven cherished grandchildren, Tasha (Nathan), Riley, Delilah, Lennon, Ray, Abigail and Willow and great-grandson Mason. Stewart is also survived by his brother Graham (Bonnie) and sisters Mary, Nancy (Tony) and Ruth. Stewart will be greatly missed by his nieces, nephews and close circle of friends.
Stewart's family would like to thank staff at the oncology clinic, palliative care and all the staff at PRHC who provided care for him in the final years of his life. The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the PRHC Foundation in Stewart's memory.
Stewart's life will be celebrated at Highland Park Funeral Centre, 2510 Bensfort Road, Peterborough Saturday April 11, 2026. Visitation will take place at 10 a.m. followed by a service at 11 a.m. and reception at 12 p.m. Stewart will be interned at Little Lake Cemetery immediately following the reception.
