Sylvia Gail Monahan (nee Smelt)

Passed away peacefully at Campbellford Memorial Hospital on December 12, 2025, with family by her side. She was the beloved mother of Dave Monahan, Angela Monahan (Scott), Tim Monahan (Judy), Tammy Monahan (Regan). Now reunited with her beloved son Ronald Monahan (predeceased 2018). Cherished grandmother of Jackie, Jeanie, Matt, the Late Andrew, Jonathan, Brad, Ashley, Cory, Emma, Samantha, Colton & Jake. Great grandmother of 12. Sister of Sharon Smelt, the Late Bob Smelt, Steve Smelt (Tina) & Sandy Post (Ted). Sylvia will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Fond memories will be held closely by her dear friend Shelly Staves-Hawken and her children Cody, Dylan & Brady.

The Monahan family wishes to extend a warm thank you to the staff at Campbellford Memorial Hospital for their compassionate care they provided Sylvia as well as making her final days comfortable for not only Sylvia, but her family too.

In keeping with Sylvia’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a Memorial Visitation held at Highland Park Funeral Centre on December 29, 2025, at 1:00PM. At 2:00PM there will be a Graveside Service at Highland Park Cemetery. Reception to follow.
